Sebastian Lüttig at Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Conference and Battery Show 2018 in Hannover
The latest manufacturing solutions along the H/EV supply chain including electrical powertrains and components are showcased at the exhibition.
The highlights to me coming from presentations, panel discussions and off-the-record talks so far:
  • Capability and strong push of 48V systems - for mild hybrids but also small pure EVs
  • Progress in in-wheel motors, but very few future applications seen by several large OEMs
  • Importance of efficiency gains not only for powertrain, but also for electrical consumers
  • Industry preparing solutions for all types of xEVs and architectures - as there will be no clear winner among vehicle and propulsion types, according to speakers and audience
